BREAKING : Over 16 Million Nigerians Are Infected With This Viral Disease, Says FG
The Federal Government declared that nothing less than 16 million citizens in Nigeria are living with chronic Hepatitis B and C virus, this was proved by the Federal Ministry of Health.

According to the research made by this ministry, the discovery is a sequel to a National HIV/AIDS Indicator and Impact Survey carried out in the year 2018.

A representative for Viral Hepatitis Control in Nigeria, whose name is Clement Adeshigbin, said this during training organized for health workers in Taraba State on how to manage this disease.

According to what he said, viral hepatitis is a silent killer and it is now globally known to be 10 times more viral than the common HIV/AIDS, hence the decentralization of its treatment in order to control it.

He adds that the choice of Taraba state for the training is in view of the fact that the state has a high prevalence of 19 percent with 2 million citizens living with the virus, which is quite shocking.

Adeshigbin insists that the state government is committed to subsidizing the treatment for patients who are already infected
